Helical piers were installed along the sinking side of this home's foundation. The piers are screwed into the ground using a special piece of equipment, and once installed, they transfer the weight of the home to load bearing soil.
Helical piers will never rust or bend. They don't add weight to the weak soils below the home, and the installation is quick with minimal disturbance.
To divert water away from the foundation, we installed buried downspout extensions to the gutter discharge lines. This system prevents water from being dumped directly onto the foundation, to keep the surrounding soils drier and stronger.
