Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation and Floor Stabilization Project in Jacksonville, FL
Our team recently completed a project for a customer who had a wet crawl space that led to joist damage and sinking floors. We encapsulated the crawl space using our CleanSpace Drainage Matting, an interior drainage system, a high-quality sump pump, and our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. Additionally, we installed our SmartJack System to stabilize the sagging floors, ensuring long-term stability and preventing further damage.
Sealed Crawl Space
The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier offers numerous benefits, including preventing moisture intrusion, reducing mold and mildew growth, improving indoor air quality, and enhancing energy efficiency by keeping the crawl space dry and insulated.
Benefits of Encapsulation
A wet crawl space benefits from encapsulation as it prevents moisture intrusion, reduces mold and mildew growth, improves indoor air quality, and protects the structural integrity of the home by preventing wood rot and other moisture-related damage. Encapsulation also enhances energy efficiency by keeping the crawl space dry and insulated.
Vented Crawl Space
A vented crawl space is problematic because it allows outside air, moisture, and pests to enter, leading to mold growth, wood rot, and compromised indoor air quality. This can result in structural damage, increased energy costs, and potential health issues for the home's occupants.
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
Our team installs the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System by first preparing the crawl space, which includes removing any debris and addressing existing moisture issues. We then lay down the CleanSpace Drainage Matting to create a moisture barrier and install the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, a thick, durable liner, over the walls and floor. This system effectively seals the crawl space, preventing moisture intrusion and improving overall air quality and energy efficiency in the home.
Installing SmartJack System
Typically, we would install the SmartJack System first, but this homeowner decided to have the system installed after the encapsulation was complete and that's completely OKAY!
Here the team cut and pulled back a portion of the vapor barrier for the SmartJack Installation. 2'x2' hole was dug to allow for a sturdy base. Concrete was poured to ensure the system will not sink into the soil.
SmartJack Installed
The SmartJack is installed on the sturdy base our team made to ensure permanent stability. What is the SmartJack System? The SmartJack System is a solution for stabilizing and lifting sagging floors in your home. It uses strong steel beams that can be adjusted to provide the necessary support for your floor joists. Our team installs these supports by anchoring them to a solid base, ensuring your floors are stable and preventing further sinking or sagging. This system is designed to improve the structural integrity of your home and provide peace of mind.
