Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Repair & Stabilization in Jacksonville, FL
Our recent project involved addressing a damp crawl space that had weakened and sagged the customer's floors. We began by sealing all the crawl space vents to prevent moisture from entering. Next, we installed CleanSpace drainage matting to facilitate water drainage and reduce humidity. Over this, we laid a CleanSpace Vapor barrier to further control moisture levels. To maintain optimal humidity, we added a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. Finally, to stabilize the sagging crawl space and provide structural support, we installed our SmartJack support system. This comprehensive repair not only addressed the immediate moisture issue but also reinforced the structural integrity of the home.
Before Repair
The crawl space was damp, causing the floors above to weaken and sag. Moisture from outside was entering through unsealed vents, leading to high humidity levels. The lack of proper drainage and a vapor barrier allowed water to accumulate, further compromising the structural integrity of the crawl space.
New Crawl Space Door
The installation process of the new EverLast Crawl Space door involved several steps. First, we removed the old, inefficient door. Next, we measured the crawl space opening to ensure a precise fit for the new door. We then installed the EverLast door, which is made of durable, inorganic materials that resist moisture and mold. The door was securely sealed to prevent any outside air or moisture from entering the crawl space, ensuring a more controlled and dry environment.
Crawl Space Support
The SmartJack installation involved placing galvanized steel support posts on concrete footings in the crawl space to stabilize and lift sagging floors, providing long-term structural support.
Drainage Matting
The drainage matting was installed to facilitate water flow in the crawl space, preventing pooling and reducing moisture buildup. This matting has a dimpled design that creates an air gap, allowing water to move freely to a sump pump or drainage system, thereby keeping the crawl space drier and reducing humidity levels.
Discharge Line Outlet
A LawnScape outlet is a component used in yard drainage systems to manage excess water. It is typically installed at the end of a drainage pipe and is designed to release water away from the home's foundation, preventing water buildup and potential damage to the property.
